Conservation Begins with Opportunity

Purpose in Action

Yungas exists to empower farmers through regenerative agriculture, commercialization, and organizational strengthening, creating wealth within indigenous communities while protecting the world’s most biodiverse forests.

Impact That Sustains

Through a farmer-owned cooperative, communities unite to improve production, access better markets, and achieve significant increases in income.

As livelihoods flourish, so does the forest.
Yungas connects conservation and prosperity, proving that strong communities are the foundation of rainforest protection.

Our Story: A 15-Year Collaboration

For over 15 years, the Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development (AASD) has worked with small-scale farmers in the Peruvian Andes, building trust and strengthening community-led agriculture.

In 2021, this long-term partnership led to the creation of the fully farmer-owned Café Orígenes Cooperative, enabling Indigenous producers to organize, negotiate collectively, and keep more value from their work.

"These coffees means a lot to us, for several reasons. It feels like we just took a crash course in coffee buying, leaving us with a wider perspective, and more tools, that we can now use to rethink and hopefully improve the supply chains of every coffee we purchase."
